Terms of service

1. Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or using BioElle ("the service"), you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use BioElle.

2. Who can use BioElle

You must be 18 or over, and of legal age where you live. BioElle is offered in the UK and the US. You can use it elsewhere, but it is built for UK and US rules.

3. Your account

Keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else has got in, email hello@bioelle.app straight away.

4. Plans and payment

BioElle is free to use. BioElle Plus is a paid plan, monthly or yearly. You can also buy single report credits.

Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time in iOS Settings, under Subscriptions, or in BioElle Settings. Cancelling stops the next payment. It does not delete your data.

Apple, the App Store or Stripe set the price you see in your currency. Apple's terms also apply to anything you buy through the App Store.

5. Refunds

• Bought through the App Store? Ask Apple for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't refund Apple payments.
• Paid another way? Email us within 14 days of the charge and we will look at it.
• Unused report credits can be refunded. Used ones can't.

6. Reading your reports

BioElle uses AI to read the numbers in lab reports you upload. We show you every number before it saves. Please check them. You are responsible for the numbers you confirm. We are not responsible for reading errors you don't correct at that step.

7. Not medical advice

BioElle does not give medical advice, a diagnosis or treatment. Patterns, scores, predictions and ranges in the app are for information only. When a finding matters, BioElle points you to your GP or doctor.

Using BioElle does not make us your doctor. Don't use it instead of medical care. In an emergency, call emergency services.

8. Your data is yours

You own your health data, lab results and personal details. We only use them to run BioElle for you. You can download your data (CSV, JSON or PDF) at any time from Settings.

When you delete your account, all your data is permanently deleted. We do not train AI models on your health data, face, body measurements or bloodwork.

9. Fair use

You agree not to:

• copy, take apart or reverse-engineer BioElle
• scrape or share BioElle content, or anyone else's data
• upload anything illegal, or that breaks someone else's rights
• try to get into other people's accounts or our systems
• use BioElle to harass or harm anyone, or for anything illegal

10. Our name and work

The BioElle name, logo, design, words, scoring engine and software belong to us and are protected by law. You can't use them outside the app. Press can use our name and logo as set out in our press kit.

11. No guarantees

We provide BioElle "as is". We can't promise it will always work, be free of errors, or that every insight, prediction or score is right. Talk to your GP or doctor before changing anything about your health because of what you see in BioElle.

12. Our liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or knock-on losses from using BioElle. For direct losses, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected.

13. Closing an account

We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, or if your use puts other users or BioElle at risk. You can close your account at any time in Settings.

When your account is deleted, all your data is permanently deleted. Download it from Settings first if you want a copy.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will tell you about big changes in the app and by email. If you keep using BioElle after a change, you accept the new terms.

15. Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If we can't sort out a dispute together, the courts of England and Wales will decide it.
