The principles behind every reading.
BioElle is built on a few clear principles about how to read a woman's body without flattening it. Here's how it thinks — in plain terms, nothing hidden.
Before BioElle calls a change a pattern, it checks whether something ordinary already explains it. A weight bump the week before your period? That's your cycle, not fat gain. Recovery dropped after a long-haul flight? That's the travel. It shows you the likely reason first, then the data — not the other way round.
Around your period, fluid can move your weight by a few hundred grams with no real change in body composition. So BioElle leans on the scale less that week — and tells you when it's doing so, so you always know what it's reading.
Each morning BioElle weighs your sleep, recovery, cycle phase, and how consistent you've been. It turns that into one read. It tells you whether today suits pushing hard, holding steady, or going easy. The balance shifts with your phase — so the same recovery reading isn't judged the same in your follicular week as during your period.
Training breaks, beauty procedures, and recovery weeks are logged separately, so BioElle doesn't mistake intentional rest for going backwards. A break from the gym and time out for a procedure are kept apart, and neither dents your progress unfairly.
A hormone level means different things depending on when in your cycle the blood was drawn. BioElle reads each value against the right point in your cycle — so a follicular reading is judged by follicular norms, not a one-size-fits-all midpoint. It uses the date on your panel to line this up.
BioElle won't surface a pattern off a single reading. It waits until there's enough data to mean something. Every pattern it shows says how many readings it used and the dates it looked at. It also tells you to raise it with your GP. No hype, no streaks, no motivational filler.
BioElle doesn't go blank if you haven't logged everything. It works with whatever you've given it — the full picture or just the basics — and tells you what one more thing would unlock.
The whole app changes shape around where you are — tracking your cycle, trying to conceive, pregnant, perimenopausal, or menopausal. Tabs, scoring, and ranges all adjust. Pregnancy mode pauses body-composition scoring; the menopause hub swaps the cycle tab for a hot-flash log, a symptom heatmap, and a bone-health pointer.
BioElle suggests patterns — it does not diagnose. Anything clinical points you back to your doctor. When it reads a PDF you've uploaded, you confirm the values before anything is saved. The result is drafted for you — and increasingly, drafted to hand to your GP.
